Norfolk

My first holiday of 2018 was to beautiful Norfolk. I went with Mr W and a few friends. We had a fabulous time and the weather was great to!

We stayed in a converted barn nestled amongst the Norfolk Countryside. It was beautifully decorated with ample living space, log fire, 3 bedrooms one with en-suite, family bathroom, a huge kitchen diner and a jacuzzi. The barn was in the perfect location for everything we wanted to do.

Horsey Beach

One the first day went went to explore Horsey Gap. The colony of seals were there as they are all year round. Luckily pup season had finished and we were able to stroll along the beach getting up close (not to close!) and personal. This is a must for anyone venturing to Norfolk.

If your thinking of visiting Horsey Gap, pup season is during the winter months of October to February. If you do go during these months there will be sections of the beach roped off to protect the seals and their pups, but there are viewing platforms amongst the dunes where you will be able to catch a glimpse.

Horning

The following day we hired a boat and took to the River Bure then the River Ant until we reached the Wayfarers Cafe. This is where we moored the boat and sat in the sun on the deck and ate our picnic.

Boast hire varies in price and time. The owners of the barn have their own boat which we hired for 4 hours and gave us plenty of time on the river to enjoy the scenary and the sunshine.

Wroxham Barns

Our final day the sun was out again shining bright and we decided to go to Wroxham Barns. There is a junior farm with time tabled activities where you can become one with various farm animals (there is a fee to access the junior farm). After this you can go browse the various farm shops which stock locally made items. There is also a funfair and a pantry coffee shop and restaurant. If you want to eat at the restaurant be sure to book as we couldn’t get in.
